Efficient reconstruction

Reverse engineering

Reverse engineering or reverse engineering tools support designers and product developers in converting point clouds or polygon data into CAD models.

The transformation from a real component to a digital model can therefore be mapped much more efficiently and accurately. In addition to typical polygon processing commands, the available software packages include linear processes for exact reverse engineering or parametric reconstruction. Due to the different requirements on the market, there are also different software packages in our portfolio – we will be happy to advise you on the correct selection.

Highlights

Geomagic Wrap

Geomagic Wrap is the ideal tool for processing point clouds and various 3D polygon formats (STL, OBJ, etc.). Numerous functions enable the direct processing of this triangular data for further use in various processes. For example, the reverse engineering tool is used for:

3D printing applications, the exact reconstruction of free-form surfaces in industry, in the entertainment sector and in various medical applications (reconstruction of CT measurements), in forensic analyses and in archaeology.

Geomagic Design X

Geomagic Design X is one of the most comprehensive reverse engineering software packages on the market. The tool enables the efficient, parametric reconstruction of feature-based geometry models. In addition, the software also enables the internal design tree to be transferred to different CAD systems, thus ensuring that the created solid model can be edited in the existing CAD application.

The combination of proven design commands with the elegant retrieval of information from imported polygon models makes the tool the ideal companion for complex reverse engineering tasks.

Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS

Geomagic for Solidworks offers on the one hand the possibility to make 3D scans seamlessly and directly in Solidworks. On the other hand, the additional reconstruction functions offer the possibility to trace the recorded polygon data efficiently and geometrically accurately.

For existing Solidworks users, the introduction to the new toolset is extremely simple and requires a minimum of training – the ideal addition to the standard functionality in Solidworks.

ZEISS Reverse Engineering

ZEISS has been active in the field of reverse engineering and tool correction for over 20 years. Since mid-2019, ZEISS Reverse Engineering has been available in a new structure: The basic module is reverse engineering, on which the two possible options “tool correction” and “volume calculation” are based.

User guidance is very simple: users are guided through the software step by step. This significantly reduces the amount of training required. After just three days of training, the software can be used extensively.

Gladly there for you
