Efficient tool management
Hummingbird MES covers all aspects of tool logistics. From determining requirements and setting up the tools, to presetting and testing, through to loading the machines and return transportation – every step is well thought out and taken into account by Hummingbird.
The integration of data matrix codes and RFID technologies ensures precise identification and traceability of the tools
Efficient process flow
The process begins with the determination of requirements based on the CAM run sheets. This information flows directly into the setup orders, which include the assembly of tools and holders.
After set-up, the tools are preset and checked. The presetting data is transferred digitally and entered into the tool tables. An automatic check of the target/actual values ensures that the tools comply with the specified tolerances. This minimizes the error rate and increases process reliability.

Loading and using the machines
The machines are loaded using identified tools / holders. The master data of the tools and the measurement data are transferred to the machine control system. After use, the tools are unloaded, identified and transported back for further use or maintenance.
