WESTCAM has been offering services in the field of industrial 3DMetrology and reverse engineering for over 17 years. The extensive experience of our experts and the accuracy of the 3D scanners used make us the Austrian specialist for standard-compliant evaluation of components in accordance with ISO 8015.
But how exactly does a 3DMetrology service actually work in detail? We take a look behind the scenes.
Step 1: The customer inquiry
As with any service, the first step is a request from the customer. When a 3DMetrology request comes in, it is immediately forwarded to the relevant experts at WESTCAM.
Step 2: Making contact and submitting an offer
The next step is to contact the customer and clarify the scope of services. The customer receives comprehensive technical advice from the WESTCAM team of experts. We attach particular importance to responding to the customer’s individual needs and gaining an understanding of their application. The focus is always on the customer, who should get exactly what they need. Our experts therefore take sufficient time for a thorough analysis of the situation and requirements.

Step 3: Ordering the customer’s service
After comprehensive consultation, the customer’s service is ordered. WESTCAM promises to make the process as uncomplicated as possible. Our trademark:
Short lead times thanks to the many resources at WESTCAM. Our equipment includes, among other things, 7 optical 3D scanners for industrial purposes, 2 automated systems (SCANBOX) for measurements during series production, a 2.5D surface microscope for roughness checks and specialists for optical Metrology at both locations
Time flexibility: scheduling, as far as possible, according to customer requirements
Local flexibility: Our experts are based in Mils near Hall in Tyrol and in St. Florian in Upper Austria. They are happy to visit customers on site at any time on request.
Step 4: Processing the service
Now the real work begins. It goes without saying that the wishes of our customers and their satisfaction are paramount. Guaranteed: Personal support during the entire processing phase as well as the use of highly trained and highly motivated Metrology technicians who provide competent advice even in challenging situations. This is what we understand by optical Metrology at the highest level!

Step 5: Completion of the project
Once the job has been completed to your complete satisfaction, nothing stands in the way of successful project completion. Of course, our customers also benefit from comprehensive aftercare. The data is transferred via secure cloud storage and the results are discussed. After all, the WESTCAM 3D-Metrology team is fascinated by optical Metrology and loves to share this passion with its customers!
